Jordi Teixidor encouraged to reflect with his show "Crossing", which can be seen at the Palace Almudí until 15 July (06/06/2012)

The Hall of Columns of the Palace of Murcia Almudí prepares to inaugurate the exhibition of one of the most prestigious painters and more Spanish influence, Jordi Teixidor (Valencia, 1941), illustrious member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando .

The exhibition is titled 'Journey', will open tomorrow Thursday, June 7, at 2000 hours and runs through July 15.

"Journey" includes fifteen works with which Teixidor wants his audience, as well as excited, if possible-especially come reflection, because as he says.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Future Foundation Murcia.

Jordi Teixidor is one of the most prestigious Spanish abstract artists.

Collaboration during the early sixties with Teixidor Jordi Cuenca Group (Zobel, Wheel, Torner) in founding the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art paintings set the tone of a committed art, the rigid and austere abstraction Teixidor continue for more thirty years.

Teixidor's paintings delve deeply into the unconscious with bands of color ranging from dark black to expressive gestural marks that underscore the complexity of the human spirit.

Evoking the devotional paintings of Mark Rothko or Andrej Rublev icons, these works allow the viewer to a meditative space that pushes the limits of our perception.

Jordi Teixidor has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe and the United States including museums like the IVAM, Valencia, where he had a major retrospective in 1997, the Santa Monica Center of Barcelona and the Solomon Guggenheim Museum, New York.

His work is among the permanent collections of prestigious museums and institutions worldwide.
