The City Council shows regret at the death of the official Antonio Valencia (31/05/2012)

Assigned to street cleaning service for the past 20 years has been instrumental in the implementation of selective waste collection in the municipality

Murcia City Council has expressed regret at the death of the official street cleaning service Rubio Antonio Valencia, who died overnight.

The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and Councillors of the Municipal Group PP, PSOE, IU and UPyD have remembered in Parliament that the figure of this officer received an award last May 17 to mark the World Day Recycling.

Rubio Antonio Valencia has been assigned to street cleaning service in the last 20 years.

Their dedication and effort were key when starting the collection service in the township.

After three years employed by the Local Government industry as an expert, in September 1978 took office as a career officer in his capacity as an industrial engineer.

Between 1982 and 1993 he was assigned to Emuasa and then played his work in various municipal services such as architectural design office, industrial, traffic, transport and street cleaning, which has been in recent years.

Also, between 2003 and 2011 combined his professional career with his public service as a member of the Municipal Board of Barrio del Carmen.

Councilman street cleaning and waste management, Jose Ros, stressed it was an exemplary officer, introduced in Murcia cleaning systems and waste collection XXI century.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 11 am in the Church of Carmen.
