The urban section of the tram takes another step with the approval of the feasibility study (25/04/2012)

The extension of tram route continues to move forward with the call for the drafting of a feasibility study that will define the layout and features of the new line that will connect with Line 1 Station Carmen.

The Board has given its approval to the specifications of Administrative Terms and Technical Specification to govern the recruitment by open procedure, the "Feasibility study of the connection of the existing tram line 1 from the Plaza Circular to Station El Carmen ", with a top price of 150,000 euros.

This study determined the maximum detail the layout of the urban section of the tram as well as technical and functional aspects such as connection to line 1, stops, frequency, arrangement of traffic and access to public and private parking.

It must also establish the system of financing for this investment, and develop an economic and financial exploitation, as well as mandatory environmental impact study.

The layout of the new line will run along Constitution Avenue and Great Road, as specified by the Mobility Plan as suitable.

On the other hand, is open the possibility that in the Plaza de González Conde can choose to ride the tram runs through the Marquis of Corvera in both directions, or performing a triangular course between the Marquis de Corvera, Industry and Floridablanca street, looking this to be resolved by the feasibility study.

The need to prepare this study comes from the agreement of February 29, when the Governing Board approved the reports issued by the technical committee that drives the tram urban section, which indicate that the new line is an operating unit with line 1 and establishes the need to hire a feasibility study to resolve technical issues proposed by the municipal officers.

The execution time of this study is six months, which may be extended up to nine depending on the allegations to which he has to answer.

Among other requirements, and so that the study is as thorough and complete, it requires companies submitted for this contest in the writing team included a manager's contract, a civil engineer, an industrial engineer, a lawyer specialist and administrative law, an economist and an environmental expert, most of them with a minimum experience of ten years in relation to the contract.
