The Faculty of Education at the University of Murcia worked a year in organizing the Regional Mathematical Olympiad, whose county of Murcia phase was held last weekend at this university and in the Lecture Giner, both Espinardo campus.
The Society of Mathematical Education in the Region of Murcia is responsible for organizing this event, with the collaboration of several agencies and entities, including, in addition to that faculty, the Department of Mathematics Education, University of Murcia.
In this year, the XXIII, have enrolled about 800 students in second year of ESO and to sixth grade more than one hundred higher education institutions in the Region of Murcia, who have competed in one of the five venues: Cartagena , Mula, Murcia, Totana and Yecla.
In this sense, the headquarters of Murcia has been the most crowded, with three hundred participants accompanied by their teachers, who were received at the welcome ceremony by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Martin Concepcion.
The regional phase will be held in Cartagena on 26 May and the winners of it will represent the Community in the National Olympiad to be held in Bilbao during the month of June.
