More than 350 residents of Sangonera La Seca still unsewered sites in North Cave Mill and the village of (23/04/2012)

The PSOE councilor Jose Zapata will defend an initiative in the House on Thursday asking the local government that claims to Aguas de Murcia to include in their investment plans in 2013 the project to provide public sanitation to more than 350 neighbors who live in the places of Cuevas del Norte and the village of Mill, in the hamlet of Sangonera La Seca.

In the case of Aguas de Murcia does not assume the project, Zapata asked that this be taken by the Government of La Glorieta with municipal budgets.

"At this stage of the XXI century, between 100 and 120 dwellings in this area are still without sewer, so that neighbors are forced to dump their sewage to septic tanks," denounced the Socialist councilor.

These water-explains Zapata-or seep into soil causing pollution thereof or of potential groundwater if any.

He adds, when the walls and floor of the pit latrines are waterproofed, due to the accumulation and adhesion to the walls of mud and soap, causing flooding, which in turn forces the residents to hire the service of the bilge same, by paying over 300 euros and, in some cases, should be done every two months.

Another issue affecting the residents of this area is the lack of sidewalks on most streets and roads, and paving the status thereof, in some cases nonexistent.

Therefore, the socialist mayor asked the City of Murcia also undertake research and design an action program to provide at least one sidewalk to the road most traveled of these villages, which pave those roads that are not and an improvement of the existing state.
