Social Welfare renews its commitment to needy children of the Holy Spirit Espinardo (18/04/2012)

The Association activities are designed to EDUCA under 6 years of age

The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has given the green light to renew the cooperation agreement with the association EDUCA.

This association stems from an initiative by a group of mothers who in 1992 raised the need for their children in an educational environment while they work or seeking work.

Since then remain active, having overcome persistent difficulties in regard to funding and continuity of the board and the educational team of the Center, located in the neighborhood of the Holy Spirit Espinardo.

The City Council on a proposal from the Department of Social Welfare and Health, which runs María del Carmen Pelegrin, approved the renewal of the cooperation agreement it has with the entity, and a grant of 59,000 euros nominative for maintaining their activity.

The project's direct target of the Infant School are between 40 and 50 children aged between eight months and 3 years of age, extending up to 6 years in summer school.

Most of them are from families at high risk of social exclusion.

It also addresses their parents, and that the association arises maintains direct contact with them, advising and encouraging them in educational aspects related to the education of their children.

During the month of July developed a summer school in the local Infant School Education, filling the void that occurs during the summer and that had been translated into a clear worsening of living conditions of some children, doing fun activities -education and serving the interests and ages of children, giving priority to water play.

The Summer School is addressed to some 50 children aged between 1 and 6.

The trajectory of Education Association work reflects his involvement and social commitment to the neediest people in the neighborhood "The Holy Spirit" and especially the sector of the population of 8 months to 3 years, assuming a benchmark for the quarter and a resource of great value to its population, like the Center for Social Services.
