The University of Murcia held from 17 to 19 April a lecture series commemorating the bicentennial of the enactment of the Constitution of Cadiz in 1812.
The inaugural conference will be Tuesday at 17:30 pm in the lounge of degrees of the Faculty of Law, and will be given by Professor Francisco Garcia Costa, who will review the history of Spanish constitutionalism.
Previously, at 17:00, the Vice President for Coordination and Communication, María Ángeles Esteban, the dean of the Faculty of Law, Faustino Cava, and Professor of Constitutional Law Angel Cobacho inaugurate the conference.
Today's meeting will close at 19:00 pm with a panel discussion in which the American History teacher and student John Andreo Marin Jesus Reverte analyze the influence of the Constitution of 1812 in the Americas.
The day will start Wednesday (17:00 hours) with the lecture by Professor of Ancient History Jose Antonio Molina, who will speak of the ancient constitutions, while teachers Francisco Giménez, Angel Marin and Higinio Cobacho discussed (18:30 pm) on nineteenth-century Spanish liberalism.
On Thursday, the government delegate in Murcia, Joaquin Bascuñana will deliver a lecture entitled "The Constitution of 1812: principles and values", at 19:00.
The cycle will close (20:15 hours) with an act which will involve the rector of University Extension and eGovernment, Mercedes Farias, the dean of the Faculty of Arts, Jose Maria Jimenez, and Professor of Constitutional Law Luis Galvez.
