The Mayor presented the awards obtained by students who have better ideas on peace (30/01/2012)

For the first time the City commemorates the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace with a painting and essay contest aimed at students in primary schools.

About 600 primary school children presented their work in this new event.

Students from schools in the municipality have had the opportunity to participate first in the competition organized by the city of Murcia, through the Department of Political Equality and Development Cooperation, to commemorate the "School Day of Non- Violence and Peace. "

In total, over 600 students from nine schools have presented their works in this first competition.

The objective of this initiative is to promote artistic creation and expression and bring smaller values ​​education, while it is intended educate both teachers and pupils about values ​​of non-violence, peace, tolerance and respect to human rights.

The theme of the editorial work involved a 'Wheel of peace' as a strategy for resolving conflicts and their authors should specify 6 agreements, ways or strategies they would use to make a good living at school.

Their participation was open to students in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade.

The criteria that have guided the jury to select the winners were the order and reasoning ability in writing, the originality of the story and poetry and syntactical and spelling accuracy.

Has been awarded a prize of 1 st category for best writing, story or poem chosen from levels 3 and 4 and a 2 nd category for best writing, story or poem chosen from levels 5 and 6.

Meanwhile, the drawings were about an ideal world under the slogan 'We are all needed', drawing to it all the elements for students are necessary in order to achieve an ideal world.

It was addressed to all primary school children of any school and has valued the originality and creativity, as well as the interpretation.

Three prizes were awarded for the best drawings in 1 ° and 2 °, in 3 and 4, and another 5 and 6.

In total, 600 jobs have been submitted for Jesus and Mary schools, CEIP Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente, CEIP Pintor Pedro Flores (Bacons Bridge), CEIP Gloria Fuertes (El Palmar), CEIP Andrés Baquero, Colegio San José de la Montaña ( Sangonera la Seca), CEIP Fleet, Centre for CIS and CEIP El Molino (The Pool).

The awards, sponsored by the Foundation consist Cajamarca school supplies for students, including several boxes of colored markers, crayons, drawing sheets and pens, as well as framing the work of each award.
