The Governing Council of the University of Murcia has approved the establishment of the Research Institute of Optics and Nanophysics, born with a vocation to strengthen and enhance the scientific projects that are developed in this field in college Murcia.
The lines of research of its members are now visual optics, biophotonics adaptive, complex systems groups, groups of devices in nanoscience, and others.
Built-in groups have contributed to the Institute over the past five years external funding to the University of Murcia for more than three million euros, of which half a million relate to contracts with international companies.
They are in possession of seven patents, four of them international, and participate in two quality doctoral programs.
The Governing Council also voted to enter into agreements with various agencies and institutions, among which are the Association of Young Entrepreneurs in the Region of Murcia and the city of Yecla, the latter, for the creation of a permanent extension university in the municipality.
The governing body of the University also has given approval to the courses will be taught by the School of Legal Practice and the multi-annual spending to finance the participation of this institution in the Chair Vargas Llosa.
