The City Council has taken another step to recover the fair that Murcia lost more than 30 years (27/10/2011)

The Plenary approved the appointment of municipal representatives in the governing board of Ifemur.

This will be an essential infrastructure to meet business demand and promote economic activity.

The creation of a new exhibition center in Murcia that will respond to business demand and economic activity will boost regional municipal and today took an important step by appointing City Council representatives on the governing board of "Ifemur" well-integrated by the Chamber of Commerce, which is a key driver to realize the project.

The morning plenary session has agreed the appointment of the Town Planning and Housing, and Employment, Trade and Enterprise, Juan Antonio Bernabé and José María Tortosa, respectively, as members of the municipal governing board representing.

From the constitution of the governing board, which will take place in the coming weeks, the executive committee will be responsible for carrying out future actions and will be chaired by the President of the Chamber of Commerce.

Its first tasks will instruct the development projects and facilitate the start of the construction projects.

The new exhibition center is set to become a shock to the municipality for economic help to increase the attractiveness of Murcia as a convention city, as explained by the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, who also explained that currently there is draft, the physical location of the enclosure and is completing the management of the space next to the Science Park, between the Campus Espinardo and Guadeloupe.

Traditionally, the city of Murcia had the International Exhibition of Food and Canning (FICA), relating to the business history of Murcia and the canning industry worldwide for decades fifties and sixties of last century.

Its history goes back to 1952, as Fair Samples General and every two years, until, in 1958, it became monograph.

Their loss, in 1975, was a projected decline in a city such as Murcia and a business network as dynamic as the Murcian required.
