More than 200 specialists in medieval literature from European and American universities will meet from tomorrow, the 6th, at the International Congress on the subject that will house the University of Murcia until Saturday September 10.
The meeting, organized by the Hispanic Association of Medieval Literature, will present the latest advances in research on medieval Spanish literature and enhance scientific exchange between the experts present.
After the opening ceremony to be held tomorrow at 9:30 pm in the Chamber of Arts, Merced campus, in the presence of the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, and the president of the organizing committee , Professor Antonia Martinez Perez, the keynote will be given by a professor at the University of Granada Juan Paredes.
Walls will talk about the voices of the medieval tale in the story, while a professor at the University of Genoa Carlos Alvar close the opening day at the Cultural Hall Cajamurcia at 20:00 pm with a lecture about literature medieval Europe.
The interrelations of gender in medieval literature, the poetics of narrative travel or holiday and literary impact of the war of Granada will be part of the subjects in a program that includes visits to the Teatro Romano de Cartagena and the Ricote Valley.
