The Socialist Party believes that Murcia has an inadequate public transport service, expensive and unresponsive to citizen needs (27/07/2011)

The secretary of the Municipal Executive Mobility Socialist Rafael Richart, has described today as very negative and the population appears Murcia with the bonus of Spain's most expensive bus (10 euros/10 travel), according to a study by Facua, Consumer Action.

Above all, Richart stressed-so dispersed in a municipality in which the transfer is necessary because the neighbors who come by bus from the parishes, in most cases, need to use another to reach their destinations.

In this sense, the social responsibility of mobility considered discrimination for the 200,000 inhabitants who live in the districts about the fact need to buy ten tickets at a time so that the price will go as a neighbor of the city (which pay 1 euro per single ticket), especially knowing that, nationally, the average price of the cards include transshipment of 6.61 euros.

Also, Richart stressed that the city residents are not allowed option, or use the voucher 30, although the frequency of use is not recommended, or pay the single fare, since the bond is equal to 10 but buying the tickets individually.

It calls for replacing the bonus 10 for a reloadable cash card that encourages the use of public transport to all Murcia and to apply a progressive discount as they increase the frequency of use of the card.

According to the social secretary for Mobility, municipal officials are not taking appropriate measures for citizens to use more public transport, such as improved frequencies, better quality of service, extension and extended hours, better prices for those who have often transport, among others.
