A doctoral thesis at the University of Murcia have demonstrated the role played by institutions and galleries in the world of contemporary art and the need for these artists to reach society.
The research, the work of Marie Stefanie Bautista Brocal, considering the three basic factors of art: artists, institutions and public spaces deepening that manage and disseminate it.
Who runs these institutions, how they are organized, what kind of staff have, what their contacts with artists, how to access them, or the importance of the viewer in deciding what is art and what not, are some of the questions to which answers the thesis.
The study, led by Professor of the University of Murcia Juan Picornell Fernando Cantero, has been based on direct contact with galleries of Spain and Europe's own experience and personal attention from the author of cultural management professionals.
