Awarded the contract for the trimming of 6,000 trees in the center of the city (20/07/2011)

Pruning is for the maintenance and preservation of trees, which aims to ensure better health of individuals, lengthening its life and strength

The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has given the green light this morning to the service contract pruning mulberry and other trees of alignment in the center of the city, for a total of 100,000 euros and for a period of one year.

The campaign begins in October and lasts until May.

The work carried out in the center of the city are a total of 6,000 trees, mostly mulberries.

Once the pruning of deciduous species, the City also makes the pruning of evergreen species or semi, like orange or tipuanas jacaranda flowering and replanted, as well as mowing and lawn care specific.

Pruning is for the maintenance and preservation of trees, which aims to ensure better health of individuals, lengthening its life and strength.

Pruning the trees is justified when the development of the tree is incompatible with the width of the street, when the branches bother the facades of buildings, prevent the visibility of traffic signs or mixed with power lines or telephony.

Also when pruning branches, by its growth form or being sick could be dangerous to persons or property in the event of a fall.

It also includes young trees in training, in order to direct the direction of the branches by pruning selective.
