IU-Greens Murcia has filed a motion for the council to urge the central government to suspend the execution of eviction for nonpayment of mortgage on the residence when at least one member of the household is unemployed.
The initiative proposes the formation of the left that the holder of the mortgage becomes effective, the duration of unemployment, one of the principal of the loan according to their economic capacity not exceeding one third of the income of the household.
Councilman IU-Greens in Murcia José Ignacio Tornel has warned of increased enforcement of evictions in recent years by the economic crisis and claimed that the Spanish mortgage law favors the financial interests at the expense of the right to housing.
Therefore, Tornel has asked in his motion that the House ask the National Government to reform the current mortgage law to answer the mortgaged property as security for credit and include the regulation of payment in kind as preferred procedure in case of default.
He has also requested the preparation of a law on household debt and a measure to financial institutions for residential mortgages run can not be awarded for less than its appraised price, so that the family does not lose its heritage.
