City Council and Community to extend the services of the Day Centres to continue serving the elderly (13/07/2011)

About 1.5 million were allocated to the maintenance of these services per year

Day Care Centers Beniaján Head Barriomar Torres and continue serving, fulfilling the commitment of the government team to promote a greater well-being the largest in the municipality.

Thanks to the three centers in the municipality Day-Barriomar, Beniaján and Head of Torres, the elderly can access new features that improve socio their quality of life.

The Governing Board has given its approval to the extension of the collaboration with the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration to the service centers Barriomar Day-La Purisima, and Cabeza de Torres Beniaján under Autonomous Community which contributes 644,000 to maintain these centers between the period 2011-2012, the cost amounts to about 1.5 million euros.

There are currently a total of 80 seats in the three centers: 25 in Cabezo de Torres and Beniaján Barriomar and 30.

Day centers provide health care to improve health and wellbeing of users, geriatric treatment.

In addition to serving food and nutrition, so that the elderly have a balanced diet.

Therefore they are provided with breakfast, lunch and snacks with special diets.

It also offers fitness training and physical therapy, personal care services, psychological care, social care, occupational therapy, support and intervention with families and accessible transportation.

The team of professionals which responds comprehensively to the needs of users consists of a coordinator, a geriatrician, a social worker, psychologist, ATS, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, geriatric and auxiliary services personnel .

Day Care Centers ensure coverage of basic attention and care needed by dependent elderly without families feel the pressure and the constraints involved in your care and sometimes difficult to reconcile the commitment to care for the older person with work activity.

Day Care Centers are a resource for front-line social care of older people, in order to guarantee a better quality of life, allowing their stay in their familiar environment of life and relationships and ensure they receive the care and attention they require.
