A doctoral thesis presented by Cayetano Perez Gomez at the University of Murcia, has dealt with the scientific study of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery, Murcia, institution that meets in 2011 two hundred years.

Cayetano Pérez analysis has focused on the first third of the twentieth century, for which he used as primary sources, the journals "Medical Murcia", "Medical Research" and "Gaceta Médica de Murcia", and as complementary, " Medical News "and" Lift Doctor. "

The author also consulted the records of the Academy, the holdings of the College of Physicians and the Municipal Archives of Murcia.

The study places the moment of glory at the Academy, which was at that time with the likes of Pascual Rios Perez Mateos, Guillamón Albaladejo Garcia Conesa, between 1901-1909 and the first half of the 20, although the activity of its centralized members was limited to magazines and local level.

The thesis, which received excellent cum laude, was led by professors from the Faculty of Medicine José Miguel Sáez Fernández Gómez and Carlos Lopez.
