A course at the University of the Sea addresses the latest trends in cell therapy (06/07/2011)

Disseminate knowledge about stem cells and their therapeutic possibilities, especially in Reconstructive Medicine, is the main objective of the course at the Universidad Internacional del Mar "Hematopoietic Transplantation and Cell Therapy, Reconstructive Medicine."

The course is part of the Sea International University-Campus Mare Nostrum, and Eagles will be held in the week of 11 to 15 July.

The organizers intend to provide a forum for scientific discussion with experts in cell therapy research where we can highlight the progress and challenges in this new field of medicine.

The course will analyze the different types of stem cells and their biological properties and will be released new types of bone marrow transplantation and umbilical cord stem cells, and the results obtained with them.

The initiative will be closed on Friday July 16 with a discussion on the topic: "Present and future of cell therapy in Spain. Critical Analysis," which will involve José María Moraleda, Hematopoietic Transplant Coordinator.

The course is led by José María Moraleda Jiménez, Salvador Martínez Pérez, Augusto Silva Gonzalez and Damian Garcia Olmo, and lasts for thirty hours.

Attendees may choose three elective credits.

The registration period is open until July 4.
