Pedro Lopez asserts that "a municipality Murcia ambitious deserve to be able to create jobs" (12/02/2011)

The socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia, Pedro López, stressed the important role played by municipalities within their territory and create jobs and revitalizing the local economy to lead the recovery of the crisis.

Pedro Lopez, who participated this weekend in the PSOE Municipal Convention held in Seville, understands that local government should take an active role in generating employment especially in a town like Murcia with more than 50,000 unemployed.

Lopez noted that the City Council deserve Murcia ambitious not hide in comparisons and get to work strongly in sectors such as productive gardens, the services of the Law Unit, new technologies and expertise in trade and tourism make the city more competitive in keeping with its status as the seventh town in Spain.

"An inclusive and city living, designed for people without the gross inequalities between the center and the districts," said the Socialist candidate.

This weekend we have gathered more than 2,500 mayors and councilors from all over Spain in what is the start of the race for the forthcoming municipal elections in May for which there are only 99 days.

This afternoon, Lopez will participate in a digital encounter with Peter Castro, President of the FEMP and mayor of Getafe, Manuel Bustos, a candidate for Mayor of Sabadell, Magdalena Valerio, candidate for mayor of Guadalajara, and Elena de Diego, Mayor Villamayor de Armuña, to be held at 17.30 and will be moderated by María González Veracruz, Secretary of Innovation and New Technologies of the Federal Executive.
