"A Nobel at the University of Murcia: Mario Vargas Llosa" is the title of the exhibition to commemorate in this center recently obtained the Nobel Prize by the author of works like "War of the End of the World" or "La fiesta del Chivo ".
The exhibition, which will be presented in the Faculty of Law School from January 26 to February 11 will be opened by the Rector of the University of Murcia José Antonio Cobacho, on Wednesday 26 January at 11.30 h .
In 1995, the University of Murcia was the first Spanish woman to give the title of Doctor Honoris Causa at the Spanish and Peruvian writer, a distinction that later joined with many universities in Europe, Americas and Asia, including Yale, Boston and Harvard United States, Oxford in England, Simon Bolivar in Venezuela and Lima in Peru.
Among the Spanish are counted, Valladolid, La Rioja, Granada, Castilla-La Mancha, Malaga and Alicante.
The University of Murcia and Caja Mediterráneo award instituted Mario Vargas Llosa novel, awarded annually since 1996 and has fifteen editions to date.
The exhibition is an overview of the history of pregnancy, preparation and development of that honorary doctorate, which has recently turned fifteen, the receipt by the regional media and national, as well as a reminder to many visits that the writer for the University and the city of Murcia on the occasion of the award that bears his name, and his recent Nobel Prize.
The exhibition is organized by the Vice President of University Extension, Vice President for Coordination and Communication, Department of Literature, Culture Services, Communication Services and Community Relations and University Library.
