New projects to improve the city (28/12/2010)

Road, the redevelopment of the entrances to Murcia and the promotion of initiatives such as the food complex and Logistics Activity Zone are initiatives for 2011 Planning

New roads, completion of works that are underway and the momentum of projects like the food complex and Logistics Activities Area of Murcia, are some of the initiatives expected Urbanism 2011.

2010 in figures

The Town Planning Councillor, Fernando Berberena, highlighted the hard work of the Management in 2010, explaining that in 2010 have been granted licenses 1,173 homes, a number similar to last year, while in 2007 it granted 12,000 licenses and 8,000 permits in 2008.

Berberena explained that the number of cases is practically the same, but now 90% of the licenses granted are houses, other small promotions and has only been given a promotion for more than 40 homes, when a few years ago was the general tone.

In 95% of cases there is agreement with the owners, 4% use the Jury of Expropriation and a 1% Administrative Disputes.

Berberena highlighted the work management business and the personal attention given to each owner to reach an agreement.

Urban has spent more than 41 million euros in the construction of 15 roads, most notably the New Beniaján Avenue, which opened to traffic a few weeks ago.

Projects for 2011

In 2011 work will begin, and will open new roads to traffic are:

Torreagüera Perimeter-Road, which will improve traffic in the north of the hamlet, as the neighbors do not have to go through the center of town.

-Construction of the bypass south of Los Dolores.

The overall plan includes the construction of 40 kilometers of roads, 42 million square meters of gross floor.

This area of logistics activities as a response to a new design of European distribution networks tend to be concentrated in a limited and finite number of centers and trade routes.

The municipality will become a first-rate logistics node for the Mediterranean.

Among the draft Planning is also building new water and sanitation infrastructure in neighborhoods and districts, and continue with the housing projects for people resettled and affected by the processes of urbanization and road construction.

The Planning Department plans to allocate 20 million euros investment in 2011.
