The Fire will have a toe room coordination and emergency management that incorporates the latest technologies (27/12/2010)

Firefighters Murcia City Council will have a toe room and emergency management coordination with the latest technologies in order to manage all emergencies that receive and coordinate interventions, materials needed, fastest routes, effective at mobilizing , etc.

The Board of Management of Emergency Operations Coordinator, who will replace the current one, will be located in the Park Infant and includes a Situation Room, a server room that will centralize all modern facilities and some jobs for managers and operators , all systems using the latest in communications technology.

The latest technology to the fire service

The Department of Personnel and Prevention and Fire Fighting, directed by Pilar Megía, will launch a comprehensive plan for integrating new technologies in communication and information that includes a system for emergency management service can handle 24 hours human and material resources, to attend the reception and warning alarms, to optimize resources in the intervention, to manage all incidents of staff, manage and service parts new and ultimately to store all information related with the actions to adequately address the requests of other services and citizens.

Concentrators also acquire two digital-art equipment that will allow operators to integrate multiple functions simultaneously, such as care of the phone, the attention of radio communications, opening doors and control the traffic lights on the output of the parks, etc.

System and incorporates a "Tetra Digital Radio communications that will integrate with the Fire Service of the Autonomous Region and the Emergency Coordination Center 112, with a GPS system search for all equipment, both for vehicles and staff of Fire.

Renewed fleet

The renewal of the fleet with the purchase of new vehicles is one of the bets of the Department.

Thus, modern Fire vehicles will need to cover any incidents that may arise in the municipality.

This is the newest cars which incorporate all the latest technology in fire fighting, water-saving and eco-friendly.

In 2011 four new vehicles will be purchased, three light vehicles and a vehicle height with an escalator with a range of 37 meters, which is used for rescues in tall buildings, and has a cost of 750,000 euros.

Firefighters already have another vehicle with similar characteristics.

In 2010 and have purchased several vehicles, a Mercedes Benz Heavy Urban Pumper featuring a CAFS system for extinction based on the use of foam and allows for greater scope in the work of extinction, with an extinguishing capacity up to 10 times achieved with water, a considerable savings in water consumption and environmental friendly.

Also a Mercedes Benz Sprinter van for transporting cargo, replacing an old one of similar characteristics that was donated to an NGO, and a trailer unit equipped with material for chemical intervention with hazardous materials.

In this way and the vehicles to be procured next year, the fleet of Fire Station will add 38 vehicles (fire engines, vehicle height, polisocorro, tubs, etc..).

Overall maintenance plan

During 2011 will continue the overall maintenance plan that has been going along this year, in compliance with current legislation on occupational safety.

Among the new shares last year highlights the tire change was made to all vehicles as needed, so most of them do not need to change in five years, the annual preventive maintenance of all vehicle fleet maintenance and repair of all emergency equipment for fire personnel.

Training

Training is also basic to the firefighters do their jobs effectively and update their knowledge.

During 2010 have been held 8 training activities, mostly related to the recovery in traffic accidents, rescue in accidents with heavy vehicles, or Forensic Engineering in traffic accidents, among others.

Moreover, and since October are daily training activities carried out within an ongoing program developed by the fire service itself that will consolidate and improve the skills of troops along next year.

For 2011 also provides for more courses on rescue in accidents with heavy vehicles and comprehensive security training for all fire personnel.

And it will enhance the effective participation of external drills (accidents in hospitals, railways, airports, industrial parks, etc.) To achieve integration in Protection Plans business and gain a better understanding of the response of firefighters .

Template and actions

The Fire Service of the City of Murcia has a staff of 228 troops.

Throughout this year until December 22 have made a total of 4392 interventions, of which 1894 have been fires, 475 rescue and recovery, 568 assists and 1,455 technical advisory and inspection.
