Most of the improvements included in the new contract will take place next year
The 2011 is the year in which the Murcia and may receive significant improvements in street cleaning and waste collection, under the new contract.
Thus, most new services will start operating next year, giving a rapid response to citizen demands.
In this way, management will provide a better service, better value for money, increased technical and application of latest technologies for cleaning.
According to estimates, next year will bury a total of 500 containers of waste and recycling, divided into one hundred points of neighborhoods and districts.
The main novelty is that, having proved effective in a pilot scheme, the Department extended the burial of the glass containers to the different municipalities.
In addition, it will install a total of 150 collection points to bring the service to citizens.
Likewise, the street cleaning service and waste collection will be consolidated and extended to areas of expansion, as Ronda Sur, Juan de Borbon y Young Futura.
In the downtown area will start the new service will place the container at 20.30 hours and collected at night when the deposit of waste.
Other important improvements in this service will be held in 2011 is replacing the fleet, about 300 vehicles, with a more sustainable and use ecocombustibles (gas, biodiesel, electric) and producing less noise and lower water consumption.
Moreover, in 2011, all trucks will be side-loading collection, except those who walk the narrow streets and lanes of orchard (10%) that remain the rear cargo.
Next year it will invest almost one million euros, as stated in the new contract, in an intense and comprehensive public awareness campaign.
In addition it should be noted that the City will be next year owner of 50 hectares of the treatment facility.
Side headquarters will also be installed to decentralize the service and reduce travel times in areas of Beniaján, Carretera de Alicante, Golf Murcia, El Palmar, Espinardo and another in the industrial area of San Ginés.
