Municipal plenary approved the annual review of the census of inhabitants, as of January 1, 2010, stood at 441,117 persons, representing 4407 people compared to fiscal 2009.
Of this number, 218,506 are men and 222,611 women, while 178,296 reside in neighborhoods and 262,821 in villages.
Thus, districts with more registered voters are in this order, El Carmen (21 880), Vistalegre (15,196) and Infante Juan Manuel (14 187).
As for parishes, El Palmar is the most populous, with 23,012 people, followed by Bacons Bridge (16,976) and La Alberca (12,297).
Note that the number of people living in neighborhoods of Murcia has seen a decline of about 950 inhabitants, while those living in hamlets increase in 5137.
The number of registered foreigners to January 1, 2010 is 60,387, representing more than 917 people in the previous year.
The largest number of foreign resident from Morocco (13 990), Ecuador (89 837) and Bolivia (6155).
As a curiosity, stresses that there are inhabitants of Murcia Sao Tome and Principe, Djibouti, Zaire and Benin.
Also there are 33 stateless persons residing in the township.
