Open to traffic Beniaján new avenue that will cover the stretch between La Fica and the hamlet five minutes (17/12/2010)

Have the capacity to absorb 45,000 vehicles per day, while the present road is 17,000 vehicles and collapsed during rush hour

Beniaján the new venue is now open to traffic.

Citizens may travel the distance between the curve Fica and Canute (Beniaján) in five minutes.

Also today opened to traffic on road parallel to the avenue, which connects the rail Villanueva corner with the curve of Canute.

The new Beniaján Avenue has a length of 2.63 km, and decongest the existing road Beniaján Los Dolores, speeding traffic in this area and providing direct service to the 30,000 residents of Beniaján, TorreagĂźera, Los Ramos and toes.

Urbanism has invested 3 million euros in this project.

The road starts at the junction of Bridge Fica (up to Eroski, right bank of the River Segura), overlaps the first stretch on the road to Los Dolores Beniaján (RM-300), in the first 150 meters , and is separated from the existing road to follow its path along the river.

The new road crosses the Avenida de Los Dolores, near the new bridge over the River Segura, and ends near the corner of Canute (about Beniaján) with a round, 39 meters in diameter and two lanes around.

Avenue has two lanes in each direction, of 3.25 m each, central median of 4.50 meters, with luminaries, and shoulders of 0.50 meters, both indoors and outdoors.

In its layout has three intersections, the first item is a roundabout at the junction of Avenida de Los Dolores, at the height of the new bridge over the river, the next is at the height of the Azacaya and the last in the vicinity of the Canute curve where the road ends.

Beniaján Avenue has the capacity to absorb 45,000 vehicles a day, easing the current Beniaján road, which supports 17,000 vehicles a day and collapses during rush hour because the traffic intensity exceeds its capacity.

With the opening to traffic of the new avenue road Beniaján road will become a low intensity, and the knot of Sorrows will be a secondary intersection.
