Pedro López: "The citizens deserve a city council that treats everyone equally" (17/12/2010)

The socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia, Pedro López, today provided a news conference at the Plaza Martínez Tornel to make an initial assessment of the campaign "Citizens 'Encounters' which has held meetings with neighbors and associations Beniaján, Stables, Dolores, Boatmen, Beniscornia corner, Algezares, Espinardo, Era Alta, Nonduermas and the south of the city.

Lopez has said that, after meeting the concerns and problems of residents in first person, it can be said that "it is increasingly clear that the PP and the mayor House only agreed to the hamlets of Murcia when it renewed the Great Via de Murcia to place their names on each of the lamps. "

In this sense, the socialist candidate has stated that "the citizens deserve a city without citizens first and second category and a city council that treats all residents equally regardless of their place of residence, not just to collect taxes."

Pedro Lopez also has several examples of the problems that the neighbors have moved, so in many Beniscornia corner neighbors can not connect to the Internet, in Nonduermas complain that the road to Sewell has not been improved for years or was high every time it rains flooded near the school because the sewerage system no longer absorb new housing.

The socialist candidate also has found the indignation of the residents of Espinardo, Stables and Algezares who have spent years demanding a center that can meet the largest of these villages.

Lopez also considered very serious cases and Boatmen Beniaján where neighbors come to believe that laugh at them whenever the PP tells them she is going to build the pool or going to fix the road.

In addition, the socialist candidate has stated that if the districts are abandoned, no one can say that the suburbs of the city are much better and wanted to publish a reflection that a neighbor made at the meeting with the associations of the South where said "that the neighborhoods located behind the tracks, Santiago el Mayor, San Pio, San Benito and Barriomar favelas seem beside the Avenida Juan de Borbon", a claim which is reached after years of neglect and underinvestment in this part of the city.

Finally, Pedro Lopez has indicated that the PSOE will continue reaching out to neighbors, listening to their needs and working on a manifesto to correct these imbalances to bring the districts of the delay to which the PP have been subjected during his fifteen years office.
