The rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho briefed the Senate, meeting in the auditorium, on the economic situation resulting from the crisis in the country.
Cobacho analyzed the decline in the contribution of the Autonomous Community and the originally planned expenditure restraint measures have been taken.
Such measures, he recalled the closing of several departments and centers last summer, which allowed a significant saving, and that in the coming days will established at the holidays.
On the other hand, the president congratulated the university community for the efforts made to achieve the adaptation to Bologna from all securities and reported on the implementation of Lorca's campus where the institution provides the qualifications of nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics.
The Senate session included the presentation of the Report of the University Ombudsman, the Report of last year, and projects for the current course.
