Planning the new Avenue last Beniaján to open to traffic before Christmas (07/12/2010)

Have the capacity to absorb 45,000 vehicles per day, while the present road is 17,000 vehicles and collapsed during rush hour works are being completed on the road providing access to Villanueva's Corner

The City is finalizing work on the new Beniaján Avenue, between La Fica with the hamlet, to open to traffic before Christmas.

Today this road is fully completed and works are being carried out in parallel road providing access to the residents of Rincon de Villanueva.

The two roads are open at the same time.

The new Beniaján Avenue has a length of 2.63 km, and decongest the existing road Beniaján Los Dolores, speeding traffic in this area and allowing the 30,000 residents of Beniaján, TorreagĂźera, bouquets, Garres, etc. travel the distance between La Fica and the curve of Canute in five minutes, saving more than twenty minutes if you use the current road.

The road starts at the junction of Bridge Fica (up to Eroski, right bank of the River Segura), overlaps the first stretch on the road to Los Dolores Beniaján (RM-300), in the first 150 meters , and is separated from the existing road to follow its path along the river.

The new road crosses the Avenida de Los Dolores, near the new bridge over the River Segura, and ends near the corner of Canute (about Beniaján) with a round, 39 meters in diameter and two lanes around.

Avenue has two lanes in each direction, of 3.25 m each, central median of 4.50 meters, with luminaries, and shoulders of 0.50 meters, both indoors and outdoors.

In its layout has three intersections, the first item is a roundabout at the junction of Avenida de Los Dolores, at the height of the new bridge over the river, the next is at the height of the Azacaya and the last in the vicinity of the Canute curve where the road ends.

Beniaján Avenue will have the capacity to absorb 45,000 vehicles a day, easing the current Beniaján road, which supports 17,000 vehicles a day and collapses during rush hour because the traffic intensity exceeds its capacity.

With the opening to traffic of the new avenue road Beniaján road will become a low intensity, and the knot of Sorrows will be a secondary intersection.

Urbanism has invested 3 million euros in this project.

The works are being carried out now in the alternative road to the new Avenida pararelo, linking rail Villanueva corner with the curve of Canute.

It is a road with sidewalks, one lane in each direction and lighting, secure and fast.

The new road is being pitched plywood and paint failure.
