The PSOE candidate for Mayor of Murcia and secretary general of the PSOE in the municipality, Pedro Lopez, said today on behalf of the Municipal Executive and all the Socialists of Murcia its deepest condolences on the death of José María Ruiz-Aroca Funes, the first mayor of democracy in Murcia and former president of PSRM.
Lopez also wanted to express their condolences to the family and friends of José María Aroca and noted that his death is a tough loss to Murcia, who loses a key person to understand the consolidation of democracy and freedoms in recent history of the city.
Pedro Lopez stressed the importance of the figure of José María Aroca, a man who by nature friendly, conciliatory and dialogue became a respected person by all Murcia.
Also assessed their great work between 1979 and 1983 in front of City Hall since it was commissioned to democratize the institution in the early years of the transition.
Finally, Lee noted that the political and personal de Aroca has been an example to all the socialists of Murcia.
