Until next January 16 will see works by Dürer, Rembrandt, Degas, Goya and Picasso, among others
Almudí Palace welcomes an exhibition that tells the history of printmaking by great masters of painting.
The collaboration between the Department of Festivals and Popular Culture and the Welfare of La Caixa has allowed the traveling exhibition "From Dürer to Morandi.
Etchings from the William Cuendet & Atelier de Saint-Prex 'can be seen in Murcia, after visiting Gijón and Salamanca, until next January 16.
In total Almudí Palace will be on display 110 works of major artists such as Durer, Rembrandt, Canaletto, Piranesi, Lorrain, Goya, Degas, Picasso and Morandi, coming contemporary artists who work from the Atelier de Saint-Prex.
This exhibition will reveal the various etching techniques that have emerged over time, such as etching, lithography or the cliché-verre.
The pieces come from the William Cuendet & Atelier de Saint-Prex, founded in Lausanne in 1977 with the aim of bringing together recording artists by offering them the opportunity to dialogue with tradition.
The exhibition is divided into seven thematic clusters with a didactic: the beginning of recorded editions of the Bible, its role in the transmission of scientific and geographical knowledge, and the gradual conquest of the subjectivity that leads artists to study the effects of light on the landscape or to explore the psychology of the characters they portray.
