Students may get UCAM bike to a segregated lane next January (01/12/2010)

The Governing Board approved the works to expand to 200 meters of existing bike lanes

One step closer to weave the network of bicycle lanes in the municipality.

The Board of Governors has approved the allotment Someda Construction Co., the implementation of a bike path that will reach the Catholic University.

This stretch of almost two hundred meters, traffic will be segregated, have a width of eight feet and is separated from the road a meter.

The bike path will begin in the rotunda of the RM-B3 road giving access to the A7 motorway and the North Coast (where the existing end) and extend to the entrance to the university.

Its construction will be necessary to dig a foot deep to spread a layer of artificial gravel and two coats of asphalt being the top painted green to distinguish.

As for the horizontal and vertical signs are placed two circular vertical signals blue in the beginning and end of the road cyclable and painted arrows indicating the direction of traffic.
