Councillor of the United Left Greens + (IU + LV), Esther Herguedas, has filed a motion to the next plenary session by asking the progressive introduction of advanced areas for bicycles and motorcycles at traffic lights in the municipality, the coalition said in a statement press.
Herguedas explained that this proposal, which would give priority to implementation of two-wheeled vehicles compared to passenger cars, is to prevent accidents resulting from the accumulation of cars on the streets and increase the safety of users of bicycles and motorcycles .
He also claims that this measure has been implemented in cities such as Zaragoza, Gijon, Barcelona, Bilbao and Seville, help to promote sustainable mobility, enhance public awareness of the diversity of traffic, vehicle traffic pacify and improve traffic conditions.
