Work to rehabilitate the neighborhood of Los Almendros de La Alberca be higher than expected at first.
City Council and the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, who work in these works, have decided that in addition to the roofs and facades of houses are also fix the sewage system in the neighborhood.
This will invest around € 300,000 on the renovation of the exterior drainage system, the individual connections for each step, in addition to the paving of the three main streets where they carry out this action and the perimeter of the neighborhood sidewalks .
These works affecting 151 houses in which live about 1,000 persons, 6 stores and 3 parish.
The renewal affects the facades and roofs of the neighborhood, four blocks distributed rectangular, elongated, and built in blocks of two floors, and now to the sewerage network.
Los Almendros was promoted by the entity "Construction Charity St. Vincent de Paul", initiated by the parish priest of La Alberca Cayetano Moreno and a group of collaborators, and being mayor Enrique Campillo headman, whose purpose included the construction of houses for social type to meet the housing needs of the underprivileged.
The operation, managed by Urbamusa, began in January and is scheduled for completion in November for this new work.
The rehabilitation of the district has a budget of EUR 2.2 million, which must be added the 300,000 euro to the settlement of the sewage system.
This work is funded by the Housing and Land Institute, 25% and the Ayuntamiento.
Intervention in Los Almendros is part of the coordinated work carried out by the city of Murcia and the Ministry of Public Works in recent years has enabled us to recover, among other actions, the facades and roofs of the Santa Maria de Gracia and Vistabella, whose works also completed this year.
