"Medieval Archaeology: the conquest of Al-Andalus in the thirteenth century" is the title of the course at the Universidad Internacional del Mar to be held during the week of 6 to 10 September.
Through various presentations attendees can access a global view, from an archaeological perspective, the process of conquest of Al-Andalus in the thirteenth century by the Christian states, paying particular attention to what happened in the southeast peninsula.
The course will bring together some of the leading specialists in the subject, and there will be several practice sessions in the major deserts of the thirteenth century Andalusian in the ancient kingdom of Murcia, as Yakka (Yecla), Villa Vieja (Calasparra) or Siyâsa (Cieza .)
The activity will be inaugurated with a lecture by Professor of the University of Murcia, Angel Luis Molina, who will speak on "The incorporation of the kingdom of Murcia to the Crown of Castile."
The course is led by Joaquín Salmerón Juan, director of the Museum of Cieza Siyâsa and Jorge Alejandro Eiroa Rodríguez, professor at the University of Murcia.
The activity consists of 30 hours, and who are registered will be entitled to three free credits.
