Now the city, in collaboration with Buenos Aires, presents its joint project of international collaboration in the field of smart city.
The City Council will show the previously awarded model as the best proposal of Spain by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, in the Smart Cities program of the Digital Agenda for Spain with the project 'MiMurcia: Your Smart, Close, Open and Innovative City Council' , which was designated as a benchmark for good practices by the European Union.
The Councilor for Modernization of Administration, and Urban Development, José Guillén, has reached an agreement for the exchange of good practices in the area of ​​Smart Cities with Buenos Aires proposed as a continuous mutual monitoring during the implementation of the respective strategies of the two cities in matters of smart city.
The cooperation, framed within the URBELAC network that emphasizes the collaboration between cities to address common challenges and challenges, implies that cities will work on themes and goals related to Big Data, Open Data, e-governance, mobile applications, Internet Things, both projects having the primary objective that it must be the citizens who experience the improvement in the quality of life and their environment, through innovation, improvement in the management of the services of the city and the application of the new technologies (TICs).
Councilman Guillén remarked that "this collaboration with the capital of Argentina, whose metropolitan area is one of the 20 largest in the world, is a unique opportunity for an extensive and close collaboration to help improve our management of public services."
