22 young people get the professional certificate in different specialties related to gardening (26/03/2018)

The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, has delivered this morning, in the Training Center and Employment Initiatives of the FICA, diplomas to students who have completed the Mixed Employment Training Program 'Jardines de Vistabella II '

Pacheco explained that "with this initiative we seek the employment of young people enrolled in the National Youth Guarantee System through their professional qualification in alternation with effective work, performing works or services of public or social utility."

In total 27 students have participated in the program, obtaining the professional certificate 22 (7 women and 15 men).

Three certificates of professionalism of the Agricultural Professional Family, of levels 1 and 2, have been given:

- Auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centers (Level 1)

- Installation and Maintenance of Gardens and green areas (Level 2)

- Production of seeds and plants in nurseries (Level 2)

This program consists of two phases: one of theoretical-practical training, lasting three months, in which the student can request a 9-day scholarship from the SEF for a day of assistance, and 9 months of training in alternation with work, in those who have a contract for training and charge 75% of the minimum interprofessional salary.

They also receive complementary training in occupational risk prevention, social economy and self-employment, environmental awareness, gender equality, computer literacy, resources for finding and improving employment and have carried out courses on the application of phytosanitary products, tractor handling and Carretillero, which they will improve their chances of entering the labor market.

The main actions that have been carried out, during the training phase in alternation with work are the production of seeds and plants in nursery, construction of nurseries, installation and maintenance of gardens in Murcia and El Palmar, the Training Center and Employment Initiatives of the FICA, and the Center for Municipal Initiatives.

Now, in the final phase, orientation actions are being carried out aimed both at facilitating their labor insertion (on their own or on behalf of others) and their educational insertion.

At this time, the students are trained to work as gardeners in gardens, orchards, nurseries and garden centers, nurserymen and cut flower growers, height pruners and gravers, phytosanitary pesticide applicators, urban park conservators, historic gardens and botanists and gardeners in sports fields
