A reinforced device will guarantee the cleanliness of Murcia during Holy Week and the Spring Festival (23/03/2018)

The council that directs Rebeca Pérez will place bins, containers, portable toilets in the areas of greater affluence and will carry out cleaning after processions and parades 279 operators will serve the Day of the Bando de la Huerta and 265 in the Burial of the Sardine

The Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, directed by Rebeca Pérez, and the concessionaire Ferrovial Servicios have designed an extraordinary service to reinforce the cleaning and collection of waste on the occasion of Holy Week and the Spring Festival.

"This is a set of tasks, complementary to the ordinary service during Holy Week that begins today, Friday, March 23, and that have been planned in order to take care of the image of the city." We guarantee that the route and the zones of influence of the processions are left as soon as possible in optimal cleaning conditions ", explained the councilor.

Previously the mailboxes have been removed from the underground containers located in St. Nicolás Street and Plaza, and some bins, which will be placed again on March 31 after the procession of Holy Saturday.

A coordinated work these previous days, with municipal technicians and responsible for the service, who have reviewed the area with a team of workers to ensure the perfect state of the route of each procession.

But it is not the only related measure, since "to facilitate the floral arrangement of the steps of the processional routes, the days indicated in each church will be installed containers for the deposit of remains of these arrangements of thrones".

For this, there will be a reinforcement of workers planned according to the needs of each procession.

To clean the processions, the human resources that normally work in the area are reinforced, with a total of 50 people every day on average.

The service is complemented with 6 mechanical equipment of average a day, between sweepers, tanks, hidrolimpiadores, that will be in charge of the sweep of roads, sidewalks, washdown, as well as, transport vehicles and collectors.

During the previous ones to the exit of some processions the Civic Brigades will be present there facilitating collects waxes to place in the candles, inviting to its use to avoid the spill of the wax in the pavement that in addition to diminishing the later work of cleaning avoids possible accidents among the passers-by.

In total it is expected 113 extraordinary days of workers, 48 ​​extraordinary days of machinery, which add to the ordinary means of cleaning the city

Spring parties

During the Spring Festival 76 containers will be placed in the barracks (collected daily by a truck and two operators) and 500 bins in collaboration with the Rotary Club and Ecoembes, in addition to the 150 uses of portable toilets.

279 workers will serve the Day of the Bando de la Huerta and 265 in the Burial of the Sardine.

The device includes all the events organized during the week of festivities, although the greatest efforts will be made on the day of the Bando de la Huerta and Burial of the Sardine.

Bando de la Huerta

The day of the Bando de la Huerta will reinforce the device with 184 other bins, with a selective distribution through the most central and busy streets of the city.

On the night of Monday, April 2, a team consisting of driver and two operators, will distribute 120 additional containers through the gardens of Murcia with the intention of facilitating the citizen the deposit of waste and that will be distributed as follows:

For the cleaning service, the employment of 94 additional workers will be necessary, which will be added to the operators who normally perform the service in the area.

Also, the mechanical means to be used during this day will be 12 street sweepers, 10 sidewalk sweepers, 7 Cuba trucks, 3 builders, 13 collection vehicles, plus 11 scrubbers and water-cleaning vehicles.

The Service will adapt to the tour of the parade with the aim that the city is in perfect condition at 12 o'clock on Wednesday, April 4.

Special attention requires the service provided for the subsequent cleaning of the Reparocha, with a team composed of 20 workers plus 8 mechanical equipment and the selective collection of the waste deposited in the containers ready for subsequent recycling.

Burial of the Sardine

On Thursday at the Arrival of the Sardine parade there will be an extraordinary cleaning, consisting of a foreman, four specialists, eight laborers, three street sweepers, a sidewalk sweeper and a transport vehicle.

On Friday, the Day of the Testament Parade of the Sardine, there will be an extraordinary cleaning, consisting of two foremen, two drivers, six laborers, three street sweepers, a mini collector, a container truck and a transport vehicle.

For its part, on Saturday, Burial Day of the Sardine, the service will begin at noon, where an extraordinary service will be carried out through various locations in the city.

This service will be composed of a foreman, five specialists, eight laborers, two street sweepers, two sidewalk sweepers, a mini collector and a transport vehicle.

A total of 265 workers will be employed, of whom 125 will be of extraordinary service, as well as the use of 57 mechanical means.

After the Burial of the Sardine, and the closing and dismantling of the barracks, the different zones will be cleaned, using 22 workers who will use it, 4 high-pressure cleaners, 8 sidewalk scrubbers, plus 4 collectors.

"We want to take advantage of the number of Murcia who go out to the streets these days to enjoy their parties, in addition to the large number of visitors we receive, to show off the best face of our city and raise awareness of the need for collaboration to keep the city clean and respect for the environment ", explained Rebeca Pérez.

For this reason the campaign associated with the care of our municipality, #NSM, has been adapted with a series of posters with messages that match the events of those dates.

Phrases play with phonetics and rhyme, changing the word "marrano" for phonetically similar ones.
