Proposition No of Law, which has been promoted by the deputy of the PP Ascensión Carreño, would imply the recognition of the strategic interest of the project.
Councilman José Guillén will be present tomorrow at the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Environment to support the proposal and give an account of the importance of the project for the city.
The Murcia River project arrives tomorrow at the Congress of Deputies to decide the recognition of its strategic interest.
The debate will take place concretely in the Commission of Agriculture, Feeding and Environingingment, in which will be present the councilman of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, to support the proposal and defend the importance of the project for the city.
The proposal seeks the support of the Government of the nation and collaboration in the various actions, which may be established through a coordination and monitoring body of which the State Administration and the City Council are part, and for the recovery and social and environmental integration of the Safe River.
In this way, the Proposition No of Law, which has been promoted by the Popular Party deputy Ascensión Carreño, wants the Congress to seek from the Government support for this project, which, as highlighted in the initiative, is an ambitious operation of regeneration of the fluvial environment.
Murcia Río, which bases its logic on the maintenance and care of the Segura as it passes through the city, has among its objectives to enhance the relationship of the citizen with his River, origin of the city and its garden, and as backbone of the municipality.
For this, the global program has been divided into several major actions: landscape and natural recovery of the channel as it passes through the municipality;
recovery of meanders, parks and gardens;
naturalized adaptation of the channel;
lighting and access to the riverbed;
start-up of the bike path;
and cultural spaces.
Ambitious environmental regeneration operation
Guillén will inform the national deputies about the state of development of some of these projects, such as the execution of the Cuatro Piedras garden and the hiring of the Fluvial Promenade and the Alameda del Malecón, as well as the imminent start-up of the new lighting in the urban section.
Likewise, seeking to obtain support, it will provide its citizens with documentation with all the details of the fundamental aspects of this 'ambitious operation of regeneration of the fluvial environment', which also includes the construction of pedestrian bridges, urban and rotational actions and a global landscaping intervention and Functional of great repercussion in the beginning of the walks and routes by the channel.
"In recent months we have managed to reconcile in this project the collaboration of the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura, Board of Landowners, Universities, Professional Associations, social and environmental groups, professionals and experts", recalls José Guillén, who is confident to add also the support of the Government of the nation.
