More than thirty professionals receive complementary training on endotherapy (18/03/2018)

Getting strong and healthy trees free of pests is every day closer thanks to the endotherapy treatments on which the City of Murcia is working.

To continue delving into how to act and carry them out, some thirty members of the Park and Garden Service of the City Council and the concessionaire STV Gestión have made some training sessions, both theoretical and practical).

"What we intend is to ensure that those responsible for the different green areas of Murcia and districts know how to detect and apply innovative techniques such as endotherapy, for example in pines, eucalyptus or palms, among others," explains the mayor of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén.

In the days the participants have also known, in a practical way, how to carry out these techniques effectively, in this case by injecting active materials to different specimens of palm.

This technique is complementary to the traditional fumigations that are carried out periodically in different specimens.

The endotherapy injects a substance, through a small hole in the base or trunk of the tree or palm tree, which is not toxic for the specimen but ends with possible bugs or insects, such as the known processionary.

Activities that always seek the correct conditioning of the different green areas of the municipality ensuring the safety of citizens and animals that can travel these spaces.
