Authorized two new doctoral programs at the University of Murcia (14/03/2018)

The Governing Council has agreed to authorize the implementation for this academic year 2017-2018 at the University of Murcia (UMU) of two new official doctoral programs, as well as the extinction of the teachings leading to the obtaining of two official master's degrees.

The new areas of these authorized doctorate programs are the Aging and Fragility Program, and the Social Work Program, of interuniversity nature, with the Public University of Navarra and the Rovira and Virgili University of Tarragona.

The doctoral program in Aging and Fragility includes 49 researchers grouped in five lines of work and accessed from the Master's Degree in Aging, implanted in the UMU in 2011 and whose accreditation was renewed in 2016.

For its part, the PhD in Labor Sciences culminates the training itinerary in this field, after the extinction of all the pre-Bologna degrees: Diploma in Labor Relations, Bachelor in Labor Sciences and Doctorate in Labor Sciences, which have They have been replaced by the Degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources since the 2009-2010 academic year, culminating in their implementation at the UMU in the 2012-2013 academic year.

On the other hand, the extinction of the Official University Master's Degree in Business Sciences and the official Master's Degree in Dental and Stomatological Sciences has been authorized.

Both were having very little demand, so the UMU adapts its offer of titles to the real demand and organizes the same with criteria of efficiency and public service.

Nevertheless, it guarantees the pertinent exams for those students of these teachings who have some pending subject.
