Now Murcia demands Ballesta to ensure that our schools have the best conditions and for the quality employment of workers (12/03/2018)

NOW MURCIA demands the mayor Ballesta to ensure that the schools in the municipality have the best conditions for students and professionals, and that he also defends the quality employment of the workers of the subcontracted companies.

Workers cleaning the schools of the outsourced company Ferrovial, protagonist of continuous and serious breaches, today offered a press conference in the Consistory, which has counted with the presence of councilors of Now Murcia and in which they have denounced the bad planning of the company, the excessive work load, the incomprehensible rotations and the non-payment of extraodinary hours and extraordinary cleanings.

"This situation is causing complaints from workers," says Alzamora, "but also from schools and Ampas, because due to mismanagement and breaches of the contract by Ferrovial, the cleaning service is affected. they receive the educational centers, despite the hard work and effort of the workers, with a dedication that they often do not see paid. "

Faced with this situation, Now Murcia has addressed today in writing to the Councilor for Education, Rafa Gomez, requesting information on complaints that the addresses of centers and Ampas have addressed to the City Council about the cleaning of schools and poor service provision by the company, as well as what is being, if any, the response of the City Council to this situation.

The council criticizes that "subcontracts that constantly and in all sectors carried out the PP Government with large companies encourage precarious work and poor quality of service." Ballesta leaves the provision of public services in the hands of companies that care much more about to take a cut, even on the basis of breaches, than to offer a good service and good conditions for workers The City Council has the obligation to take action in these situations that only benefit the subcontracted companies ".

On the other hand, the spokesperson of Ahora Murcia, Alicia Morales, points out that "we are talking, ultimately, about the conditions of the schools our children go to." The City Council must ensure that public education is offered in the best conditions. "
