The University of Murcia has inaugurated this Saturday, March 10, the collective exhibition of awarded and selected works of the XVII Painting Prize in the exhibition room of the Pedro Cano de Blanca Foundation.
The event was attended, among others, by José Orihuela, Rector of the University of Murcia and the painter Pedro Cano.
The exhibition of this award is the result of an agreement between the University of Murcia and the Pedro Cano Foundation. In the words of Mª Carmen Sánchez-Rojas, director of the Foundation's museum, "both entities share a firm desire to support contemporary art by appreciating and propitiating the opportunities that can be given to young representative artists, as in this case, of the wide plastic variants that occur in our time ".
In this call, there have been 100 participating artists, coming from almost all points of the Spanish geography.
More than 25% of the works presented can be enjoyed in this exhibition, specifically 23 selected in addition to the winner and two runners-up, so the sample will be a broad reflection of the varied pictorial trends currently.
The exhibition can be visited until April 29 at the regular time of the Foundation's museum.
Schedule:
From Wednesday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturdays, from 11 to 14 and from 17 to 19 h.
Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
