How does a masochist's brain work?
Why do normal people hallucinate?
Can false memories be generated?
José María Martínez Selva, professor of Psychobiology at the University of Murcia, will respond to all this on March 12 at 7:00 pm in the Hemicycle of Letters.
Through this talk he will expose the most interesting aspects of his book 'Why bullfighters shave twice?', Answering twelve brain enigmas and behavior.
The conference will consist of a presentation of how the book arose, what was the intention in doing it and the place it occupies in relation to the previous dissemination publications.
Also, instead of reviewing each chapter, the expert will address the main issues and highlight those that you like or have cost most to write.
Through this work tries to solve the curiosity about these and other unknowns through psychology, psychobiology and neuroscience.
This colloquium is part of the literary encounters 'The return to science in 10 books' of the Scientific Culture Unit (UCC) of the University of Murcia.
The initiative seeks to spread the scientific background of different books and disciplines such as botany, food or physics.
