The spokesman for Citizens, Mario Gomez, has asked the new transport manager, Eduardo Martínez Oliva, to summon, as a matter of urgency, the Transportation Board to design a road map that guarantees a service in conditions to the Murcians;
and so that we are given explanations about the current situation of the signed agreement and the degree of execution thereof by both parties.
"Since the resignation of Roque Ortiz everything has been paralyzed around such an essential service," said Gómez, who has asked the new transport manager "to put the batteries and start working seriously."
Especially - explained the spokesman of Cs - after the announcement made by LatBus on the suspension, from March 23, the service of lines 45 (between Avileses and Murcia) and 18 (urban El Palmar), in addition to the frequency reduction of lines 39 (the one linking the Espinardo Campus with Murcia) and 7 (between the center of the capital and La Albatalía).
They continue to cut services at forced marches and those we receive, Gómez has reported, are not even guaranteed.
"It is not a receipt that, very possibly and due to the breaches of the regional government, we Murcia have to suffer these cuts that affect, mostly, the residents of districts, most in need of this service to live further from the area urban ".
What about the Administration that allows this company to decide whether or not to offer the service and modify frequencies?
"It is inadmissible that once again, a private company, unilaterally, stop offering a basic service for citizens, as happened in its day with the elimination of buhobús," said Gómez.
In his opinion, "the Administration is making a serious abandonment of functions, because if this company decides, at their whim, stop providing the service is because the Administration is not fulfilling its part and, probably, the concessionaire is blackmailing or pressing by abandonment of functions or some type of breaches. "
Similarly, the orange spokesman has asked the mayor Martinez Oliva to redouble efforts to stop the unstoppable deterioration of public transport in the municipality.
"It should amend, in its entirety, both the management that the PP has carried out in this City Council, as the budget items for this purpose and forgotten, so far, in the previous municipal budgets."
"It is imperative that the PP make a definite leap and move from intentions to action, for which the approval of necessary budget items is essential, not only to maintain the lines that LatBus intends to suspend, but to carry out a true bet by public transport and recover services eliminated since 2012 ", has ended.
