Families can improve their skills when it comes to educating their children thanks to the first 'School for Parents' The cycle of conferences will be held in March, April and May in the auditorium of the Agency of Local Development from 7 pm (07/03/2018)

The Department of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, directed by Rafael Gómez, has opened the registration period of the first School of Mothers and Fathers, whose talks will be held during the months of March, April and May in the auditorium of the Local Development Agency from 19 to 21 hours.

This cycle of conferences is intended for parents of educational centers, both Murcia and the districts, who are interested in improving their skills when it comes to educating and updating their knowledge about the different methods.

Those parents who wish to attend may request the playroom service in which their children can stay while these talks are being held.

The six presentations, whose limited capacity is 90 people, have as objectives "to inform of the importance of knowing how to educate within the family, to improve the effectiveness of the interventions of parents in educational centers, to promote cooperation in activities of awareness and generate attitudes about the new situations that our society lives, among others, "said the councilor.

The first of these conferences will be held on Monday 12 March by Olga Gúzman, a graduate in Pedagogy, Philosophy and Education Sciences, and will deal with study techniques and how to motivate young people to study in their primary school high school.

The other presentation of the month of March, entitled 'Educating in justice' will be on Wednesday 21 and will be offered by Joaquin Angel Domingo, magistrate of the Social Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Murcia.

In the month of April, the journalist and coordinator of the RED project of the CARM, Elena Perez, will offer the talk 'Resources for the safe use of the Internet' on Tuesday 10, in which parents can learn from basic concepts on digital security even software for privacy, antivirus and parental control, among others.

Also in April, the paper on prevention of school violence will be in charge of Javier Maquilón, professor of the Faculty of Education at the University of Murcia on Wednesday 18.

To close this cycle of the parent school, there will be two presentations in the month of May.

The first one will be on Wednesday, May 9, offered by Begoña Patiño, a graduate in food science and technology, and will deal with healthy eating.

Finally, the conference 'Internet and Social Networks' will be in charge of Víctor Martínez, a graduate in Universal Law and an expert in Internet Law and New Technologies, who will raise the dangers faced by minors in social networks and teach how to prevent them and denounce the possible crimes of those who can be both victims and authors young people.
