The Museum of the University of Murcia inaugurated on Monday, March 5, the exhibition 'Durations' by the Guipuzcoan artist Víctor Solanas-Díaz.
It is a photographic exhibition halfway between the installation and the documentary archive in which the artist considers the understanding of the landscape from the time factor.
Through its photographs, a relation of synchrony between journeys and the superposition of the registered places is established.
Solanas-Díaz explains that his photographs "invite us to reflect on the need for a central point of reference, an indispensable scale of values, because everything is difficult to authenticate in a system in motion and in permanent change".
The work consists of a series of photographs of small format -15 x 22 cm.- raised as a longitudinal border in which each image of the outward path is shown just above the same instant of the return journey.
The two lines of photographs are separated by a horizontal strip of aluminum adhesive tape that reflects the movements made by the audience in the room.
Accompany this scenographic exercise a convex safety mirror located on one of the walls of the room, which also participates in the creation of movement inherent in the scene.
Everything in this exhibition, including the floor, gives meaning to the photographs, always with movement and time as a story thread.
The exhibition can be seen until next March 13 in the small room of the Museum of the University (Artillery Barracks) from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 18 to 21.00.
