Murcia City Council will work one more year with ADESGA for the maintenance of the municipal farms of Garruchal (25/12/2017)

The City Council will renew the collaboration agreement with the Association of Neighbors for the Sustainable Development of the Garruchal (ADESGA) for the management of the municipal farms 'Los Ginovinos' and 'Los Porches' through a program of custody of the territory in Cañadas de San Pedro, whose annual amount amounts to 15,000 euros.

The agreement will allow continuing with the actions in the farm of 'Los Ginovinos' olive grove maintenance, focused on the elimination of total basal shoots, the removal of leftover pruning and firewood from the farm and the arrangement of plastic protections against rodents that are damaged.

In addition, actions such as tilling the farm, sowing cereals for the fauna of the area, cleaning rubbish and hydraulic infrastructures of the farms, such as the low water channel and intermediate boxes that are directed to the water pool or the cleaning of surface algae.

On the other hand, in the farm of 'The Porches' will also carry out performances of maintenance of the olive grove, tillage and sowing of cereals that serves as food and shelter for the fauna of the area.

In addition, the trajillado of the main access road to the farm will be made to facilitate access to it.

The Councilor for Urban Planning, Environment and Garden, Antonio Navarro, said that "these actions are an example of the importance that the City of Murcia give to the conservation of municipal spaces that have a special environmental value, so we will continue working on this line: to protect the natural environment of our municipality. "

On the other hand, the City Council will extend the collaboration agreement with the Association of Southeast Naturalists (ANSE) to continue advancing with the environmental recovery works of the periurban fluvial corridor of Murcia in the Contraparada.

The amount of the subsidy, managed by the Department of Urban Planning, Environment and Garden, directed by Antonio Navarro, amounts to 12,000 euros.
