A Gender Seminar analyzes the cultural models of femininity and masculinity in the UMU (27/11/2017)

On November 28 and 29, the III Permanent Gender Seminar from yesterday to today will be held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Murcia.

Cultural models of femininity and masculinity: XIX-XXI centuries, organized by the Center for Historical Studies and Local Research Foundation of the Region of Murcia, University of Murcia.

The initiative will approach from the perspective of gender and from the multidisciplinarity the historical, artistic, philosophical, anthropological frameworks ... that have determined the feminine and masculine roles in the XIX and XX centuries.

According to those responsible, the concepts of masculinity and femininity live an intense revision, and we are faced with new approaches in the gender relations that characterize the plurality in which we live in today's society.

Through various conferences and a round table composed of fourth-year students of the Degree in History, the participants in the seminar will reflect on these facts and analyze the current perspectives framed in this subject.

The seminar is directed by Cristina Roda Alcantud, professor of Contemporary History at the UMU
