The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has approved the specifications that will allow this summer to 1,200 children participate in leisure activities and free time.
In this way it is intended to promote and develop recreational and leisure activities of a playful and educational nature, aimed at the promotion and social integration of minors, in order to prevent or detect situations of risk or social exclusion.
To this end, an adequate program of activities is organized and adapted to the needs and demands of the children involved.
That is why the 34 professionals who will work with the children will look for contents of teamwork, positive interpersonal relationships, participation and children's protagonism, as well as education in values.
With this, the Department of Social Rights promotes the creation of socio-educational spaces for leisure and free time, favoring a physical, environmental and social environment that allows its adequate integral development and at the same time allows intervention with those minors with whom Is working in the Municipal Centers of Social Services.
In July, summer schools will be held, in the morning, incorporating dining in some of them as a measure to combat child poverty in the municipality.
Starting in September, activities that seek to improve coexistence, respect for the environment, cultural diversity, solidarity or gender equality will become daily.
