Murcia advances the keys to its new policy to support the electric vehicle at the 5th European Mobility Forum in Brussels (30/04/2017)

Murcia has participated in the V European Forum of entities and agents related to the electric mobility in the session called 'Strategies and local policies to support the electric mobility'.

The organizers invited the City Council, through the Local Energy and Climate Change Agency, recognizing the work done to elaborate the Local Strategy of the Electric Vehicle of the municipality of Murcia, which was described as an innovative, integrated, and needs-centered strategy Specific to the citizens of Murcia.

Murcia City Council has been working intensively since September 2016 in the elaboration of this Strategy whose draft document was presented to concessionaries of Murcia, associations related to sustainable mobility and various experts in the subject serving at the same time to initiate a process Participatory process to enrich and complete the Strategy.

This process allowed firstly to request the collaboration of experts in sustainable mobility of Murcia and its citizens to assess the 33 measures included in the document and secondly to invite them to propose new measures and ideas for the implementation of these actions.

The period of collection of contributions, analysis of the same and final wording of the document concluded last March which will allow to present in May the final document and the first measures to be implemented to support the electric vehicle in our city .

The 50 measures of support to the electric mobility that finally collects this Local Strategy of the Electric Vehicle are the most important milestone in regards to policies of support to the electric vehicle realized until now in the City council of Murcia.

Among these first measures of urgent implementation are the creation of a network of chargers for electric vehicles on the public road, the reservation of exclusive parking spaces for electric vehicles and exemption in the payment of ORA, measures that are already working The Department of Urbanism, Environment and Huerta directed by Antonio Navarro Corchón and of which the Local Energy Agency and Climate Change of Murcia depends.
